Ive played Aoe 2 and the new one, Aoe 3. Ive played many Rts’s and i have to say this one is my favorite out of all of them.
Every civilization is completly differn’t, and has it’s own strengths and weaknesses. Very cleancut game, and fun!
Example of ww2 civs:
Russia: Uses hordes of crappy units to over come opponent, can rush good in deathmatch, but can be countered. Russia also has snipers that one shot kill infantry also.
Germany:Overpowered units (Example: king tiger tank, mortar cannons) germany also can shoot V-2 missles at people.
France: Can use sabeteurs to blow up stuff, france has to use alot of stragety to win. Their wonder generates things to use against your enemy, (example: burn down buildings, etc)
Mainly france uses alot of stealth tatics to win.
United States: Has a good airforce(B-29nuke bombers)and P-51 mustangs, but the B-17 bombers suck against ground units due to the not so wide radius. United states also has aircraft carriers to launch fighters at sea.
United Kingdom: Has units that can swim through water, and blow up buildings (SAS operativs) Has stealty commandos, has overpowered bombers. And the UK has very very good AA guns.
This is all for the ww2 age, dont forget the other ages before ww2 ( ww1, imperial age, gunpowder age, medieval age)
Even thought it has all these ages though, peopel dont really play them all. Hardly any one palys medieval-WW2. Usually its WW2-WW2 or imperial-imperial.
PS. Don’t listen to people who say this game lags, this is the most lag free RTS game ive ever played online. (I have 768mb of ram)

I must say, this game looked like it’d be just another Age of Empires, but I’m totally blown away! And that’s just from the demo! The demo is great, but it doesn’t have it all, like all the civs and ages but, it was still incredible. My brother and I play it all the time, and if he won’t play, the internet supplies me. It’s an incredible game, but if you’re not sure about it, go to http://www.empiresrts.com and get the demo, believe me, you won’t regret it!

Wow… all I can say is WOW. Does this game deliver. I am an avid RTS player with games like Age of Empires I & II, Clone Campaigns, America, Cossacks, American conquest, and Rise of Nations and this one blows them all away – easy! I have never written a game review, but had to write this to express how great this game is. Medieval period is great, up to WWII, but finally I get my favored, but much neglected Napoleonic period (Imperial age), and the art and graphics are absolutely gorgeous! The camera can fully rotate, the art is smooth and clean (not like Age of Mythology or Empire Earth, both dissapointments for me). You can zoom in right up close. The sound effects are awesome and realistic, and the scenario editor is easy to use and gives some extras. I just can’t reccommend this product enough. The game is designed for “Wargamers”, not farmers, so if you want to get quickly in the action and stay in it, this is the one. Plus, this game cleaned up my new Win XP system! That’s right, all of my games were buggy and unstable until I installed the full version of Empire DMW, and voila! Hours and hours of fun with no problems. Must be the Direct X 9.0b the disc includes. So if there are some of you out there who may be experiencing some problems, despite a specs-rich system, maybe this game will work for you too. Plus you will love it. I never thought I would say it, but it beats AOE, and RON hands down! RTS generals, buy this game, you will not regret it.

First off, I’m not a great gamer, so I’m not in touch will all the great strategies, etc. I don’t play too many games a year, but this is one I’ll be sticking with for quite a while!
For me to get attached to another RTS is amazing since I usually don’t like RTS games much. I played Age of Kings some and liked it, but others I tried were just bleh..
This game made me so happy! A friend got it for me, and since I hadn’t played RTS in a while, I was a little suprised. We played it mostly against the computer and I’m so addicted! Since every civ is 100% unique (all the powers, units, colors, sounds, even starting citizens) I feel like its a brand new game to explore every time I play. We love playing against the AI mostly, but when my friend is busy I played the scenarios.
The scenarios impressed me a lot. I tend to like multiplayer with friends the most, but the stories and cinematics here are awesome!
I could go on and on, but I need to finish typing this so I can finish the YI campaign!
THIS IS A MUST BUY!!! ok ok, I’m a little excited about it… =)

Empires is the RTS game I’ve been waiting for. I loved games like Starcraft and Age of Empires, but the recent batch of games just hasn’t done it for me. The different civilizations and different ages really gives the game a lot of depth. I’m really enjoying playing multiplayer online with my brothers and my friends. If you’ve been disappointed with other recent RTS games, look no further.

[Wow] this is a great game. If any of you gamers have ever played EE AOC, this game is pretty much an upgrade to the same drivers. BUT, the graphics and online play have been boosted up a noch giving you grade A performace. Also, some clans form EE AOC have moved up to empires such as **USMC**.

I’ve been fortunate to see this game in full version development and have played the demos (single and multi-player). If you love historically based RTS, or just like strategy games, you should definitely enjoy Empires: DMW. The graphics are outstanding, the game is rock solid and options for players of the different civs provide VERY interesting strategic choices.
In multiplayer mode the game will be enormously interesting and challenging because of the options available to the human player. In single player mode, more casual “empire building” players will find a tough but fair AI to compete against, and there will be many difficulty levels to choose from depending on how tough you want your opponent to be.
This is a very, very high quality game in an era when there’s a lot of junk out there. But you have to be willing to learn the game and take on a bit of a challenge, and appreciate historical differences in the many civs in the game. If you have the skills to play, you will be richly rewarded!

Empires is such a great game. I wasn’t sure when I first heard about it, but I played the demo and really liked it, so I decided to get the game. Wow! There’s so much in this game! This is by far the best real-time strategy game I’ve ever played. It was easy to learn, but has so much depth and is so fun that I’ll be playing it for a long time. The single player campaigns (there are 3 of them) were a blast! Good stories and very well constructed with lots of ways to win. I’ve also enjoyed playing random map games against the computer. Trying to beat the next difficulty level is a whole game itself! (I’m pretty good at beating level 5 now, but there are 10 levels!) Plus, you can play people over the Internet.
I highly recommend this game. If you liked Age of Empires and Age of Kings, this is like AOE 3, except all the civilizations are really different, with lots of cool units and special “classified projects”, which are like special powers you get to use on your enemies. And you can play all the way to World War II!

Ive played the demo of this game, and lets just say “i was blown away” ive seen strategy games simalar to this like Age of Empires series, but enlike those this one starts at the mideval age and ends at WW II. I highly reccomend this game for the serious strategy gamer… also any other person out there who is looking for an awesome game. Any other srategy game to this day has now met it’s match! Again, Empires: Dawn of the Modern World is best strategy game I have ever played.
